The Princess of Crawls-A-Lot

And she's off! Just two weeks after being evaluated by the physical therapist and doing the exercises at home that she suggested we do, Gracie was up on her hands and knees. That was about a month ago, and she has really been perfecting her skills since then. She still inchworms and army crawls, but she is doing more of the regular crawling every day. And she really gets to where she wants to go in a flash! She'll make a beeline for Fisher's room - the jackpot of toys! She's also pulling herself up a lot too. She is growing up so fast!

PS She was 18 lbs 1 oz and 29 in. at her 10 month appointment the other day. She was in the 75th percentile for her height. I would say she's definitely caught up with her age group in height! She was in the 25th percentile for weight. I told her it was ok - tall and skinny is a good thing!

Daddy's boy

Clint was doing some yard work last weekend, and he got out his chainsaw tree trimmer thingy (I'm sure that's the real name - lol). Fisher was inside with me, and when he heard Clint outside with the chainsaw, he went and found his toy one (that I had put up because it is loud and annoying, but lucky me, he found it a couple of weeks ago!) Since Clint had his chainsaw turned off, I let Fisher go outside with his to "cut" some of the limbs that were on the ground. What a daddy's boy - wants to do everything that Clint does. When Clint started up his chainsaw again though, the rough and tough boy came running for his Mommy. :)

First bath in the big tub

Gracie has still been getting her baths in the baby bath that fits over the sink. Since she's been sitting and keeping her balance so much better lately, I decided to see how she would like the big bath tub. She loved it! She just crawled around and splashed and played. Fisher was not too happy when he came in from mowing the lawn with Clint. The baby was in HIS bathtub! Another thing he's going to have to get used to!

PS Check out the look on her face in the last picture. That's one of Fisher's plastic bugs she's making a face at - it was the one toy she did not put in her mouth!

Buzz cut!

I've been thinking about giving Fisher a cut with the clippers for a while now, but didn't have the guts to try. I took him for a haircut a couple of weeks ago though, and didn't like the job that the girl did. She left lots of stray hairs and it had a weird "U" shape in the back. So I figured "What the heck - it will grow back" and got out the clippers the other day. His hair has never been this short before! He did a great job of sitting still for me (even though the hair clippings on his neck really bothered him). I think it will be a lot cooler for him for the summer, and he looks pretty cute with his buzz cut!

Part-time thumb sucker

Gracie is not really a thumb sucker. Although she likes to have her hands, fingers or thumb in her mouth a lot, she doesn't suck her thumb when she goes down for a nap or to bed for the night. For some reason though, if she is really sleepy when I give her a bottle, THAT is when she chooses to suck her thumb. It must be pretty hard to suck a bottle and thumb at the same time. What a funny girl.

Crayons on the carpet

I was on the phone with Uncle Kevin the other day, and Fisher was playing on the carpet right under my feet. I didn't even notice what he had done until I got up and walked off from where I was sitting, then came back to sit down again. He had colored on the carpet with green and red crayons! Don't know what possessed him to do that. When I pointed to it and asked him what he did, he said "mess". Yes, it is a mess. Since I hate my carpet already, I wasn't too upset - but I have put the crayons away!
